How do you think?

How do you, as a person, tend to think.

Via a series of neuronal firings mediated by neurotransmitters, on the whole, or almost exclusively. Doesn't everyone? :)

If you want to do a bit of reading I recommend the book "The Synaptic Self".

I think 'Why?' is a more interesting question. Or 'What is Self?'. Or 'What is consciousness'. Since those questions have occupied philosophers pretty intensively for 3000 years I am sure we can probably complete their work in half-a-dozen pages on TB :)

Take a piece of paper, and fold it in half. Now fold it in half again. Then fold it in half one more time, and fold over one corner of the top fold.

Place the piece of paper in an old coffee can, and put the lid on it. It has to be an old coffee can; it cannot be a new coffee can. Put the coffee can in the backseat of your car, on the floor, and leave it there for six months. After six months, drive from Tucson to Albuquerque, go through the drive-thru of a McDonalds, and order a Big Mac.

DO NOT eat the Big Mac. Put the Big Mac in the coffee can with the piece of paper.

Rent a Ryder Truck, that has towing capability, and tow the car home; wherever it is you live. If you don't live in the United States, you may need a boat, plane, or other instrument for transversing the ocean. Once you get home, put the car in the garage. If you don't have a garage, paint your left hand blue. Use non-toxic paint.

Take the can, with the piece of paper, and the Big Mac, and pour gasoline into it. Put it in an open area, outside. Wad up a piece of newspaper, light it on fire, and throw it into the can. Be sure to wear eye protection.

And that is how I think.
