The input on my Fender Jazz is REALLY loose. It wiggles all over the place and you can't even play it. No sound comes out. How do I tighten it?

How do you tighten an input jack???

You can usually just bend it back. there is a bent over "prong the that your cord clicks on. there is a little bent over part that can compress over time. if you just take that bent over part and pull it away from the main shaft of the jack it should click in solid.
Check your work before you screw it all back together.
This usually works fine for a while and a few more times but eventually the metal will fatigue and you may need a new one eventually.

You can't tighten an input jack because your bass doesn't have one. It only has an output jack.
I know, everyone needs a little, but no one needs a smart, right??
Just disassemble as needed, bend the contact as needed to make sure it's touching the plug firmly, but if it happens again, replace it. They only have two solder points so it's usually pretty easy.
This is also a good reason to always loop your cable so that it provides strain relief. You don't want to be able to step on the cable and pull directly against the plug/jack. I like 90-degree plugs on the guitar end of cables for this reason - less leverage if something pulls on the cable.

Yeah Pilgrim nailed it good: Ya probably should just try to bend the springy contact piece that touches the tip over just a bit to make better contact. If that does not work the first time, replace the output jack altogether. Output/input jacks are expendable and they do wear out with time.
