How does someone like Ed Friedland choose a bass?

Okay, so this one has a few mods...

Sweet! I used to have one of those in the late 80s.

Regarding Carvins... I was an endorser for several years, so I made a point of using them in my videos. They were very good to me, it was the least I could do in return. I stopped my endorsement when I became Senior Editor of Bass Guitar mag, it wasn't politically correct. I still like their stuff, but I have gone back to my preference for bolt on necks.

I have not actually done any of the feats being attributed to me in this thread, though I did once kill a bear with my hands..... Oh, and I shot a man in Reno.... You know, just to watch him die.

This thread made me realize that I don't NEED anymore then 2 basses. :D

Main gigging bass, and a back up.

I really only play rock music live......I like to jam on oldies and classic rock at home......that's it!
I don't think that requires 6 basses!

For me, it's just GAS. plain and simple. :o

Let me get this straight, you're not interesting in jamming on blues, country, jazz, reggae, honky tonk, or funk? There must be plenty that I left out...;)
