How does this look? P Bass Pickguard Combo

Well... I wouldn't put it on my '78, 3TB P-Bass (Cream/Black/Cream for me), but... if it had come to me with that pickguard on it? I might leave it on the bass. I replaced the original Black 'guard, partly because it was cracked, and partly because it just looked... gloomy. And, the lacquer refinish on mine - which closely duplicates the original finish - is a little lighter in the center, and has a slightly bigger red zone, than yours. Which might not have worked quite as well with that pickguard, as your bass does... So, yeah; on that bass? Good choice...

Anodized grabs your attention away from the wood - it says "look at me" when the light hits it. The better looking the wood grain is, the more strongly I believe you should have a black guard on there. A black guard makes the wood the star.
