I 100% agree that it looks so smooth on my bass.

Yours looks like a more solid, less nuanced version of the above.

I want to not like yours but can’t convince myself.
It “screams” Honey, Treacle, Smooth and Sweet.

You need to be seen playing this
im only conflicted by the contrast of black pickups and mixing gold + silver hardware but i think it could only look worse trying other combos

verrrrr niceeeeee

Is the extra thickness for you to have a thumb rest or are you just putting the pickguard over top because you don't want to remove the old one yet? I kinda like the idea of a thicker guard, but I would worry about string clearance and pickup heights.
From an aesthetic perspective I like the color contrast with anodized and the burst, so I say go for it either way.

Try finding one lefty! I have two Fender made ones. I also just bought one lefty on Amazon, and it's really nice.. a lot better than I expected.
Gold Anodized guards are to me, the best- except for a few combinations I love- but for me, I love them most of all.

I actually have the gold guard laying on top of the old guard. I haven’t installed it yet. I ordered a set of Fender 63 Pure Vintage pickups. Once they come in I will swap the guard and pickups at the same time.

Like the look,

But the thickness looks kind of funny.

Isn't a true anodized thin pickguard still available?

Hello All,

What do you think of this combination? I just bought a gold anodized guard for my American Pro II. Just wanted your opinions on it. I haven’t installed it yet. I also have a new set of Pure Vintage 63’s to install. Thanks

A great look to be sure ... and a replica of a '58 Precision which is one of the Holy Grails of bassdom. The only problem is there's no notch cutout for access to the truss rod. I'm a function over form kinda guy and this would be a show-stopper for me. Having to deinstall/reinstall the neck or pickguard in order to make minor tweaks to the truss rod is a bridge too far ... no matter how cool it looks.

I totally agree. I am actually going to have my tech install everything. I was going to ask him to notch it out for me.
