how heavy is your rack?

It automatically detects the string and ignores anything that isn't a standard open-string note (it's not a chromatic tuner by choice).

As for D/E (and if I played guitar or a fiver or tuned BEAD, A/B), yes, I suppose there's a possibility of getting those confused. I could add note indicators easily enough; the code in the MPU supports them. But I didn't want to waste the panel space, and really didn't see the need. After all, if I'm THAT far off then something's horribly wrong. :) Plus that'd be a whole tone out, it'd be pretty obvious I was way off just by ear. I can't imagine getting that far out except when changing strings, and I change one at a time so I have a reference there.

Realistically, yes, my scheme's rather limited -- I can't detune for example (though I could do drop-D :) ). But it's plenty fine for its intended purpose, which is a quick and instantly available check that I'm in "concert tune." If I needed anything else, I'd pull out a Korg GA-30 I have from back before I built up the preamp, or invest in a "real" tuner. :)

Nothing like a nice heavy rack.

Hurray, now I feel complete. This complements my "nothing like a nice piece of ash" post over in basses quite nicely.

Really though, right now my racks are all apart, deciding what is part of the rig and what is studio gear. Leaning towards making it all studio except Furman, wireless, and compressor. Don't really need much for effects anymore since my Fender has reverb and distortion.
