How is Ampeg quality with new ownership?

I’ve owned 4 different 4 Pros over the years, and never had a single issue with any of them. Mine were all manufactured in the 2000’s (bought my first one from Mars Music back around ‘01-‘02).

Mars Music. There’s a blast from the past. I did a lot of business with them.

They’re inviting public input on how they can improve their products so I think it’s safe to assume that some changes may be coming

I completely agree. And IMO it's ultra cool of Yamaha to ask Ampeg fans for ideas and suggestions. I've been voting on the ideas that have been posted, and I even made a suggestion regarding Ampeg tube amps.

I'm going to have to wait a bit longer before I can buy another SVT/810E, but I have a good idea that by the time I am ready Yamaha/,Ampeg is going to have some really killer amps on the market.

Yeah I’m excited and looking forward to Yamaha’s leadership of Ampeg. I love my Yamaha bass so I can only imagine what they’ll add to Ampeg in terms of QC, Craftsmanship, and tone.

Speaking of 810e's and changes - I modded mine many years ago with a set of Ampeg branded cabinet handles that are recessed and spring loaded. They are in the bottom of the cabinet and make a HUGE difference for whoever gets the bottom end of the cab after it's tilted back - especially up steps and through narrower doorways. Looks 100% factory.

Not sure why they weren't there all along.
