how long do baterrys last on active basses?

Do all of you actually change batteries or do you use rechargable ones? is there any difference(in relation to the instrument)?

i use high end rechargeables in mine and just charge them when i need too. i can go about a year or 2 without recharging them but my newest i wired as an 18 volt and its been about 6 months so far. i hate buying batteries or having to run out to get them when i want to play thats why i use rechargables.

Dumb question.. do Rechargeables leak.. meaning is there acid in them.. may be another bonus.

+1 Its scares me when the battery has not been changed in more than a year but do at least check them B4 each gig!

mine has a 1000 hr lifespan, so I change them every year

My Fenders and G & Ls last 9 months to a year, my Peaveys about 6 months, that's with heavy weekly usage. Long gigs, with my bass plugged in for hours, tales it's toll on batteries.
