Double Bass How long will my fingerboard last?

I Highly doubt this is in the right forum but I figured you guys/ladies could help me out.

I have a cheap (compared to all of your basses) Palatino upright that has a ebonized maple fingerboard with a set of Weedwackers on it. I play Psychobilly and the Weedwackers sound and play nice but I want to upgrade to Innovation Psycho Slaps, and I was wondering how quickly would the Psycho Slaps eat through my maple fingerboard?

The slaps are nylon wrap and have no rough windings. You are good.

I got wear on my good ebony board from slapping on Velvet strings. They are metal and "textured" which seems to be the magic formula for fingerboard wear. Too bad, they sound great!

Not sure if this helps but I have had really good luck with a Carbon Graphite fingerboard. It has not rutted in the least in the last few years. When your fingerboard finally gives out you may want to consider this option .

Invalid Link Removed did mine, but both parts that were ordered for this manufacturer needed further adjustment, I would use someone else.

You should be fine with the Psychos. The nylon windings aren't overly aggressive and their girth helps to keep the strings from digging in too much. There should be enough wood on the board that you can dress it several times before it needs to be replaced.
