How Long Would you Last in a Zombie Apocolypse?

If you don't have blood circulating oxygen to all body parts they don't work. Period.

If you don't have electrical signals coming from the brain to control all the organs and/or muscles etc. they don't work. Period.

So Zombies have always been fictional to me. If someone did "go mad"and need to feed on brains, they would be no harder to kill than any other creature. Period. Take out the heart or take out the brain. Game over.

Plus, I never understood why mobs of Zombies are assumed to be chasing only uninfected people. Why don't they eat each other? They were dead for a while. They have severe brain damage. They don't know the difference between "good" brains to eat and "bad" brains to eat.

It makes no sense on any level. It never has. But I know people who actually have a plan in place. Seriously, they have an escape/hide/survive plan.

It's fun to think about though I guess.

Of course its all fantasy and fun....and fictional.....but not only are your reasons explained and understood in most zombie lore, but very...very few people believe that actual ( movies like) zombies do/ could exist.

Just curious, how did you answer about the most efficient way to kill the zombie? I said to burn it, because obviously, if nothing but ash is left, they cannot reanimate from nothing. I struggle to find an effective and timely way to burn them, but that wasn't the question.

oh, and 82 days. Its kinda depressing, thats only 12 weeks, or 3 months :p

You'd need to conserve your ammo and find a simpler way to kill most of them as shown on The Walking Dead TV series.

Personally, I think the most efficient way of dispatching their brains would be with what was called a "tire billy". These were used old-school to thump on tractor trailer tires to quickly check for sufficient tire pressure. They were a long, heavy billy club with a lead weight/cap attached to the business end. I doubt that they are made any more.

with a good food and water supply, and If the only kill method I could come up with was with firearms, I'd last about two years. But certainly within that time I'd come across more ammo so I might be able to last longer. I'd probably develop a few alternate kill methods though...electrocution, explosive, blades, catapult, heavy equipment, croc infested mote.

I literally said out loud that none of those options were the most efficient way to kill a zombie. Destroy the brain...the only way.

But yeah, I answered to burn it...because of those crappy options it was the best shot at destroying the brain.

My wife and I were at the vet this morning and we did this together. She was mortified when I answered that I'd put her out of her misery as soon as she got infected...

I gotta say a pitching wedge, a Bowie knife, and maybe a sword would be all I'd want/need. Oh, and a tank. :)

83 days is my expected expiration dating in the post-zombie apocalypse. I believe living in an urban center is my biggest downfall!
