How loud is your TC BG250-208?

Hi,

I recently picked up a second-hand 2x8" combo and I have to say it's great for home practice. I really like the sound and the tone prints are excellent. Quality of sound aside, I'm concerned about volume.

At home, in my ~4mx3m office I have to set the volume control to around 12:00, halfway on the pot. At this volume it's about right to play along to mp3s and it could easily be talked over without shouting or even raising your voice. Full volume (well, the control all the way up) doesn't seem massively overbearing. It doesn't feel like it would be anywhere near gig volume.

I know we all have a different idea of what loud is, but I keep reading reports of people doing gigs with theirs and mine just seems like it wouldn't even get close. I've done the usual checks, different bass, different cables, checked the speakon is in all the way, checked both speakers are working, etc etc.

I guess I'm just wondering (as it was bought second hand) that maybe mine is defective in some way? How loud is yours?

I know that, I don't even really want to use mine outside the house. I just expected it to be louder is all.

Even with what I imagine aren't the greatest drivers and even though it's rated in TC watts™ I expected more.

Thanks for your comments gents, anyone else?
