How low do you go?

I'm just curious, since I don't play live any more, for you guys that play live and loud: how low do you expect your bass rig to go and/or do you use a crossover or EQ to cut off any super low-end?

Please qualify your response with whether you play 4 or 5 string. Thanks.

Yeah, although I only play at home now-a-days, I crank it up a bit from time to time, and I agree, I don't feel like I need anything below 40hz and anything below 60hz needs to be managed.

One of the reasons I'm curious is because some of the super-boutique builders seem to tout the low-end response of their cabs, and personally I don't want it (the super low-end).

Maybe those "full-range" type cabs are geared more towards low-volume players, or recording? Just seems that for what I play (loud rock), the full-range cab thing isn't needed.
