This is basically my thought process behind my setup as well - an EA doubler for upright gigs, my Science Mother for electric gigs, and an amp (or five) for other purposes. My "other purposes" bucket is overflowing a bit at the moment though...

Mine will be soon too. Need a dedicated slide bass one and a guitar one for starters. It been quite a while since I did my last tube amp build, so I'm really looking forward to that.

I tried one the the newer Doublers at the last Seattle GTG. Really nice, and definitely on the same general page as my last few SS amp builds.

I have a Markbass Ninja 1000, the Richard Bona signature amp, which I run into his signature 2x12 cab. I have a Markbass 2x10 cab that I keep as a backup or if I need extra volume, even though the Ninja running into one cabinet (in 500 watt mode, rather than full 1000 watt mode) is still more than loud enough.

I also have a Markbass Little Mark III for running my Eich Bass Board, which is effectively a speaker cabinet that you stand on to get bad feedback through your legs. The reason for running this with its own amp is because when running through the Ninja, to get enough output from the Ninja to drive to the board properly, the amp has to be really, really loud. Running into it's own head means I can set my Ninja for volume and set the level of feedback from the Bass Board without having the Ninja so loud that my home practice sessions get picked up by local geological surveys.

Hi,

I've got four bass amps, one guitar practice amp, and a powered mixer for PA, six total, not "because I can" but just because I don't like to sell them. I sold a Traynor bass combo once and wish I hadn't. I have only three working bass cabs (210, 410, 115). My other 15" cab needs a speaker. One of these days. ;)

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff
