How many amps do you guys own?

The question for me should be working amps...

Main amp is a Walter Woods 2 channel/stereo high power head (green light) I bought directly from him in the mid 90s.

Others:

1964 Dynacord Bass-King - for home practice if not through headphones as well as some more local, smaller gigs (only weighs 22 lbs which is not bad at all for an all tube head) B-15 type tone but louder.

GK MB Fusion

GK MB200 (often carry just as a backup or for some rehearsals and works well with upright)

Ashdown ABM500 EVO II - UK made - doesn't get much use these days (gigged it a lot about 15 years ago) and I think of it as a specific 'character' amp as it does color the tone quite a bit.

Truthfully, what currently gets the most use is the Shift Line Olympic preamp as I use it for the majority of practice with headphones...

It comes down to what you need and, in some cases, what you can afford. I have 3 amps but one is a 2x10 combo I use for rehearsals that I really like.
I bought a Bergantino B|Amp and 2 Bergantino 112 cabs because they're light and portable and sound great...and cover my needs.
I also have a Demeter amp and AccuGroove (15") I like to take to gigs on occasion.
Depends on the room...the gig...my mood.

well i pickup amps that are cheap and/or broken and repair with hopes to sell them, so I've got a ton right now

ones that i plan to keep:
sansamp rpm + some 400 watt power amp i got cheap
peavey rockmaster preamp + peavey classic 120 (i also use for guitar but for bass this nails the svt-tone that I've been trying to emulate ever since i started listening to punk records as a kid)
acoustic 140 i purchased from the classifieds. somebody cut off part of the chassis (with the second preamp) and put it in a new headcase. it's small and weird and i put mxr-style knobs on it because i can

repaired and awaiting sale on reverb:
acoustic 140 (i LOVE these things. received this + cash in an exchange for ANOTHER 140 i had repaired)
ampeg svt3-pro (90s with banana clips instead of speakon)
1972 sunn concert bass (old version with the distortion circuit. with everything turned on that is such a gnarly amp)

to be repaired:
hartke ha5500 (just was given to me last night. pretty sure it just needs a cleaning but until i look at it this is where it belongs)
acoustic 370 (currently working on)
1969 sunn 200s (should just need cleaning and new filter caps)
1969 kustom k200a (this thing was the babe of my existence for awhile. smoked too many output and driver transistors, resistors, etc. was a hack job when i received it and eventually had to set it aside. sounded heavenly the brief moments it worked before letting out the magic smoke)

have a couple guitar amps too but apparently i hoard bass amps now. for a guy who only had a 100w crate combo for like 10 years this is sometimes hard to believe lol

I have only 3: My main it's an Epifani UL902C with Epifani UL410 cab... A smaller US made Roland Cube 100 that sounds BIG!!! Its heavy and bulky, but its perfect for those small "acoustic" gigs, where you don't need/want the head/cab configuration.
And my small bedrooom practice amp, a Line6 Bass amp with 8" driver...

I havent played through a lot of the newer cabinets out there, but years ago I really liked the Peavey PVH212. It's only available in 8 Ohmn so my little WT400 wouldn't be able to push it very hard. I would love to get a used Eden WT800 and run it bridged (880W RMS)

I only use tube heads. I never liked combos much and I can't stand solid state/digital modelling amps. The ONLY exception being old Peavey solid state amp heads. Probably just for nostalgic reasons as my first amp was a Peavey 260D. But I honestly think they have a nicer feel than modern Class D stuff.

I currently own (in order of personal preference):

Selmer Treble'n'Bass 50 (MkI Croc skin, absolutely brilliant amp, a sort of British voiced Blonde Bassman)
Marshall JMP Super Bass
Carlsbro 100TC (HIGHLY underrated amps and dirt cheap!!!)

I use the Selmer and the Ashdown for my home recording setup with an iso cab. The rest is in my studio/rehearsal space with various cabs to choose from.

And then there's all the guitar tube heads that can also sound great for recording bass when blended with a DI... one particular favourite being the Supro Sportsman which is totally sick for overdriven bass!

I have an Aguilar TH350 and a single DB112nt cabinet. Eventually, I'd like to pickup an old tube head (i'm partial to the Sovtek Bassov or a Traynor) for recording and to replace the 112 with a Barefaced two10.

I don't find amps I have forgotten about too often but sometimes I remember I have this amp at that Practice spot or this one at this friends house and forgot it was even there .

So Anyway, I had the same logistics a few years back. I was in three bands, and they all practiced... so I had three bass and amp set-ups around town. When those groups broke up and I started playing in bands that didn't practice, I had quite an equipment collection in my music room.

LOL....I do and also about DNA. He founded both companies and I'm a big fan of just about everything that David Nordschow has designed. Really like DNA cabs although my latest purchase has been Eden cabs and an Eden Class D amp.

i voted 4-6 but only because i've used 4 different gig rigs/setups in the last few months and just happened to use that many because of atypical circumstances. typically: 1 cab, 1 head, or a combo....so 2 rigs, mostly.

Dude.... That head is awesome! Talk about some crazy heavy bass tones. It really cuts through I mix also.

I believe that bass is the real deal!

It’s a 79 Musicman Sabre. I also have one that’s black and almost mint but that one has been played for years and it shows.... and I love it. Its like the necks warn down in all the right places.
