How many amps do you guys own?

Eden WT (800watt, late 80s or early 90s old)
Puma (think it 900 watt)
2 Mark bass combos ( 12 inch speakers)
Carvin combo (100 watt)
main amps. but every one wants to know what your playing them through. So
couple of 2 ten cabs couple of single twelve cabs couple of 2 twelve cabs and a single 18 cab. If i need more the event always has ampeg 8 by 10s.

2 fender rumble 100 combos; one for home/gigs, one for the rehearsal space.
Ampeg BA 108 v1; just got demoted to an end table when I got the 2nd rumble. May get sold/traded in the near future.

Looking to get something bigger eventually, probably a Rumble 500c.

I voted "2 to 3 for options and backups" because both aspects are important, but counting combos I own more.

Reiner Amplification VHF700 - all tube hand-wired preamp, 700W power module, 9 pounds, awesome tube tone
Darkglass M900v2 - 5 lbs, all solid state, I use this when I don't feel like setting up distortion pedals. Also has great tones
Reiner Studio 1200 - predecessor to the VHF700: 1200W, 13 pounds. It's now backup for the VHF



My combos - I have gigged the first one and will probably do so again:

Fender Rumble 100 1x12
Fender Rumble 40 1x10

Yes, I like the Fender Rumble combos. I got to use a Rumble 100 at a jam and liked it so much I bought one for myself. It became a rehearsal rig, so I bought the smaller Rumble 40 for practicing at home.

I am curious to know how many amps people currently have. I am going to allow the inclusion of combos since not everyone needs a dedicated head.

I currently have (2) GK 800RBs (1 as my primary, the other as a spare), a GK 400RB, a GK MB150E Combo, a Roland Cube100 Combo, and an Eden WTX500. I don't use them all, but just like my multiple basses, I'm hopeless, and I just can't bring myself to sell any of them.

Excluding guitar amps, our studio has x2 early 1970’s Ampeg V4B heads; each coupled with early 1970’s Ampeg V4 412 cabinets, which have been converted from x4 12” to x4 10” Eminence speakers. For light duty we have an Ampeg BA-210 V2. Would like to get another Ampeg B-15 to the replace the one we let go some years ago.

Crazycatlady of, mostly, obscure valve amps and even discounting the turnover have too many for sanity. My CMI (Marshall) 100W Lead/Bass was my gig mainstay, managed to trade a Laney for an Ampeg (not an SVT, a 2x6550) and was working on a Bassman (silverface fine by me) to have a sort of poor man's holy trinity but the CMI went in for repair and was lost in the process.

My main bass amp is a Fender 500 head with Fender Rumble 4x10 cabinet. It has the traditional Fender sound and I keep it set up on a permanent basis. My go to travel amp is a Hartke Kick Back with a JBL clone 12" speaker that replaced the crappy sounding aluminum one that rattled. Only have a couple more amps which are guitar. An Allen Deluxe Reverb with the Fender all tube 1965 clone PTP wiring circuit with 2 10" Eminence speakers and for home practice a Roland Micro Cube.

I also mix-and-match, mostly the F1 through the AE410 for medium-sized shows.

To be honest, the big amp combination is so loud that it's almost never needed. If I play a big, outdoor show the soundman will often get unwanted FOH spill from the rig, so I need to turn it down and spread the stage sound using monitors.

If you had asked me in the eighties if I would ever have too much headroom I would have said: "impossible!"
