Who is your favorite bass manufacturer?

3 very different basses, and I love them all!

Lightwave 4-string saber with tapewounds ;)
Ergo electric upright bass (early model made with bubinga)
SX Ursa 2 6-string, my newest instrument that has rekindled my love for bass. That's saying a lot for a b-stock instrument.

I'm kind of happy we aren't counting all of our instruments. I have 4 acoustic guitars, 2 electric 6 strings, 1 seven string, 1 baritone guitar, 2 hollow body guitars, 3 ukuleles, an eastman mandolin, a crummy banjo, not to mention my wifes string instruments and the piano.

Wow I'm glad I stumbled across this forum,my mates think I'm going crazy as I keep buying bass guitars,I currently have 5 basses and 3 others electric guitars,
I currently have

Westfield b2000,my first bass guitar that I still use when learning a new song

A make your own bass that I bough second hand for £13 to practice neck adjustment on,

A nice looking small body stagg bass, great to look at but the action is really high so I don't play it much

An epiphone thunder bird,my new toy,the prize of my collection.
This thing is built properly,it would probably survive an explosion!!

And a swift acoustic bass,I bought this off the same person I got the DIY bass for £13 aswell and even though it's a lefty it's still comfortable to play when strung to be a right handed bass.

:bassist:

My first bass was a black Hondo Pro II symmetrical cutaway, a P-bass pickup, maple three piece long scale neck. This bass was played by Chris Gleason in a television ad for Daddy's Junky Music. I bought no more basses untill this year.

I added a Spector Legend 4 (orange stain) and then captured a SD Curlee USA bass from the original production run (single P-bass pickup, was replaced with a Seymour Duncan USA). The Curlee is half--fretted up to #12, then fretless the rest of the way. The fret slots are present -- should I have the bass refretted totally? Does anyone have experience with this? The wear on the finish on the fretboard appears like the frets were removed before the bass was ever used, or the frets were never installed at the factory.

7 Currently - sold 3 last year, owning lots of basses also means upkeep and maintenance which for me at 10 basses became pricey (and took up too much room)...but I still think about adding to the collection from time to time.

Anyway here's the current list:

Fender Jazz - Geddy Lee Sig. (Mods: Bartolini Jazz pups, Black Pearloid Pick-guard

ESP LTD B-304 (Mods: Glockenklang 3 band active Preamp, Hipshot A-style Bridge)
Schecter Stiletto Custom 4
