Finally got the 62 AVRI Precision set up properly. So I did some goofing off and made a very short video.

How do you like the Traynor? I wish I'd gotten one back when they were undervalued. I bet that head-cab pairing sounds great.

It's great, although I would love to A/B it against an SVT ha ha. To address the "what about / what if" voice in my head. I'm not a gigging bassist, so this is all home use. It's also my first tube amp. Before this I was using a Traynor Small Block 500. I initially went in the shop to try an SVT. They didn't have one in so I tried the YBA 200. It was ~$1400 cheaper than the SVT or half the price (ish). It just went up in price a couple hundred bux so I was lucky to get it pre price change. Happy with my purchase for sure.

I go MXR Studio Compressor : QStrip : Amp and find it puts out great tones. I have a few different bases and it sounds great with them all (Ric, P, L2000, Ray)

In the loft (pictured) I use the Fender 4x10 as you can see. At home I use a Traynor 2x10 (maybe tighter / fuller sounding). The Fender is arguably brighter sounding. I think the Fender is also great value for money.

i always limit my collections to 8. Can’t get enough space (permission) for more than that. So if a new bass comes, one should go.

Just added another, but that keeps me in the 5-9 range. Hoping to sell a couple and probably will give a 3rd away to a local charity...that might get me below 5. We'll see.

I originally wanted American versions of these two instruments but after professional setups, I am quite satisfied with these quality Indonesian builds.

I have the 5 string versions of those basses and love them. I used to own an US made L-2500 but sold it in a moment of stupidity. I didn't really like the color (transparent orange...like really orange) but it was an amazing instrument, tone wise. I ended up buying the indo L2500 with blue burst because I missed the other one I had. Honestly...I can't tell the difference between the two. I also had a four string American Ernie Ball Music man. I liked it but I am really a 5 string player, so I sold that and bought a nice indo Sterling 25CA classic. It came with a white PG which I don't really like so I have a tort on order.

I have a couple SVT cabs but don't have an SVT head. I've been rocking the Ampeg PF-50T as a head. It's great, but I'm still craving a tube head with more wattage. Not that I need it. I just want the experience of playing it. I've played SVTs at some gigs and loved them.
