Smart! What about a satin finish screen protector?

I tried to use satin finish screen protector pieces to dull the finish of some shiny pickup covers and went with spray lacquer instead. The protector pieces kept coming off the plastic.

I've changed my vote to four. Last time I visited this thread it was only two. I honestly feel kind of weird about owning four when there's so much other musical gear I need. I've been working on album, and having four basses is not the best use of my resources. The issue is figuring out which one to sell.

Not concerned bout the glossy protector.
As long as it works.

I have a huge one on the back as well to prevent buckle rash.

I've always had 3 basses but as I had a cull over the last few months (nothing lasts forever with me it seems) so maybe I should update my latest assets:
Peavey Grind, neck-through 5 string, unknown year but 10-15 years old and not a US model but a solid bass anyway. Through body string mount and 35" scale gives a gorgeous low B tone, lovely neck also and well balanced on the strap, a godsend after using a Thumb 5...real heavy neck issue with that though Warwick refute such a thing!
Sadowsky Metro Express, 5 string, latest model, made in China but with huge input from Roger to provide a budget option Sadowsky and a few weeks in I'm mighty impressed with it all round although it's not been baptised as yet but I have no doubts, just need new strings, Elixir I think. The tone pots are new to me with just bass and treble and no cut but it works as the tone varies quite a lot, same with the blend knob. Normal string spacing too, again better (to me) than the Thumb although they do have a wider spacing model too but I wasn't aware at the time and I found the spacing a tad restrictive. So, all good so far.
Finally, the ace in the hole, a Kala Ubass. I always remember the chatter about DeArmond basses, miniature or Dinky basses, on the a.g.b. forum but I'd never come across one to judge until I spotted the Kala which utilises silicon type strings and a black Shadow piezo mounted beneath the bridge. The sound is amazing for such a small instrument, closest yet to an acoustic upright and reminiscent of early Motown and Jamerson's P with a solid thump and little, if any, sustain. I've used it in a big band (much surprise and gossip amongst the other ranks...until they heard it) and also as a gimmicky humorous interlude with a gypsy jazz combo. Never a main bass but it's perfectly serviceable and has good novelty value....playing is supposed to be fun, right?

I changed mine recently from three to four. Wouldn't be surprised if within the next year I end up selling one of the four, changing my vote back to three, then buying another bass to replace the one I sold, and changing my vote back to four.
