I needed to change my vote.

I didn't realize how long it had been since I voted in this poll. I was cleaning up my "Watched Threads" list and ... well ...

So, I acquired my fourth bass as can be learned about in this thread.

Previous to that (in reverse order):

An unknown explorer style bass I bought to "experiment" with... planning on stripping it, respraying it in a disgusting colour, fitting a smoke machine and strobe light into the body. It won't get used... but will look ridiculous.

Officially got rid of my upright, so now down to:

Carvin Icon (4-string, fretless)
Kiesel Xccelerator (4-string, fretted)
Univox UHS-1B (4-string, fretted, short-scale, ADGC)

Could probably get rid of the Univox, but it has sentimental value, and also looks cool on display on my wall in the music room.

The Ibanez is new to me, it feels really nice to play. Visually it's pretty generic-modern, but that's ok. Sounds-wise I'd like to bring it up a notch... although I understand that the lack of distinctive character is kind of functional. It just isn't my kind of function. :bassist: :D

I totally get what you’re saying abou the Ibanez. I pick them up in a shop and think they feel gooood! Then I plug ‘em in and play for a few minutes and return them politely to their hanger. Real Barts are more appealing but not by much. YMMV. I played a neck through that a buddy had installed Nordstrand pickups and a Noll preamp on. It was impressive! Do not know if it was the preamp or the pickups but it was nice!

Looking Nordstrand Big Singles, I've had several recs for them, one from someone I know and regard pretty highly...
