How many basses do you own? (Currently) Part 2

As of today, I own one bass. I sold six basses over the last couple of months, the last two sold today. Interestingly, *the one* is not fancy or expensive. It's a beat-up 2000 MIM P bass. I came upon it recently in a local guitar shop, played it and was smitten. Bought it for $350.00. For the time being, it's all I need. I'll probably pickup a fretless sooner or later (probably a Lakland or Sandberg or Rob Allen) but for now I'm quite content with this one.

Recently scaled down to just the two.
‘66 Precision and a ‘78 Musicmaster.
I had Dunlops on them both in this picture, but they both have La Bellas now. Not knocking the Dunlops, they very much have their place, i just prefer the La Bella thing.

It’s surprisingly liberating stripping everything down to just the two instruments really care about most.

I have 8 total, 5 that I actually play, one I picked up today and will hopefully join the rotation. If not I'll sell it. One is mostly a wall hanger (my wife thought it looked nice so we got it to decorate the living room) and my last bass is a beat to snot acoustic bass that I couldn't pay someone to take. The family photos show my players. A sterling ray 24CA, Epiphone Thunderbird Pro, Epiphone Flying V, Epiphone Classic Pro, and Ibanez SR505(I think). Picked up the Orange O bass at a clearance sale today, we'll see how it fares. The Cadillac pink Gretsch is the wall hanger.

I have 3. Well, 4, but the fourth one is actually my first bass, made of plywood with warped neck that I keep just as a keepsake and don't play anymore.

I have a MiJ Yamaha BB VIs EX, a MiM Fender Mustang PJ and a Sire V5. The latter two have pickups swapped for SD QP.

I tend to play short scale due to a bad shoulder and some funky stuff that I had done to my left hand index finger a long time ago.

I still feel that 3 basses is too much for me, however still can't part with Sire.

I'm currently at 4. An Ibanez SR-300, an old Peavey Fury, another SR-300E that I'm trying to unload, and a Ventura p-bass that was given to me in non functional condition. It appears to just need a tone pot and an output jack, along with a setup and a cleaning.

Kinda thinking about finding something with a fatter neck though. These all have smaller necks.

Changed my vote. Last time I voted was several years ago. I had four basses then, now I have three. I gave one away, sold another, kept the other two, and then just recently bought another one.
