An update:
Got Fender Vi.

I have 3. Well, 4, but the fourth one is actually my first bass, made of plywood with warped neck that I keep just as a keepsake and don't play anymore.

I have a MiJ Yamaha BB VIs EX, a MiM Fender Mustang PJ and a Sire V5. The latter two have pickups swapped for SD QP.

I tend to play short scale due to a bad shoulder and some funky stuff that I had done to my left hand index finger a long time ago.

I still feel that 3 basses is too much for me, however still can't part with Sire.

So there's an update. I'm selling the Sire bass, got this red monstrosity instead. I think it'll stay this way longer.

I'm back to my Leo Trifecta since 2021. G&L L2000 Tribute is the latest addition.

When both your active bands suddenly stop gigging, what’s the logical next move?
Obviously - you buy another bass.

Fender Precision with La Bella 760FS flats tuned half a step down, was for my vintage rock/Led Zeppelin tribute band. If the band doesn't start up again by the end of the year, I'll most likely restring it with another set of flats tuned to E standard. Got some DR Legends that I wanna try out.

Stingray with Super Slinky roundwounds tuned to E standard. Killer bass and killer low action setup. Was perfect for RHCP tribute band.

G&L L2000 Tribute is tuned to drop C for a new (nu!) metal project - covers and originals. It's currently wearing GHS Boomers heavy set, but I replaced the .095 string with an Ernie Ball .090 as I think the .095 is too much tension and throws off the balance. I ordered some GHS Boomer .090s so I'll try these out when they arrive so I don't have a "mix and match" set - even though this works perfectly fine tone and feel wise. This thing is a beast and it absolutely slays in metal outfit.

Long time lurking, first time posting:

1. Fender Am Series Precision Bass (RW board, ash body, butterscotch finish).
2. Fender Am Series Jazz Bass (Maple board, ash body, butterscotch finish).
3. Gibson G3 1982 (Ebony board, black finish).
4. Epiphone Ripper (Korean with the PJ configuration, brass nut as standard and natural finish).
5. Futurama P-Bass copy (RW board, fiesta red w/tort guard). My first bass!
6. Parts P-Bass: chambered roasted swamp ash body (Warmoth), Roasted Maple neck w/black blocks & binding. Under construction.

I over the last couple of years I’ve thinned the herd and sold an Am Std Fretless Jazz, a red maple top Aerodyne P, a MiM deluxe active jazz, Ashbory acoustic, briefly owned a Japanese Fender PB-70 which made me decide to build a parts bass instead of another older/vintage instrument.
