Evenin' everyone!
I am back up at two, with this recently acquired Peavey Grind 6. Got it in a sorry state and it took me about 3 hours to get an OK set-up. Pick-ups make some noises as soon as my hands go near the strings... My intention is to fix it completely, to convert it to fretless and to refinish the whole thing like in the YT video below. Let's see if this time i get to go beyond just the planning phase..

After a bunch of years away, and minimal bass purchases...I am back to cultivating my collection. I'll admit it...it is now a collection. I mean I play regularly, but I have too many. I have had others over the 36 years since I got my first, but these are where I am at now. However, I like them all, and I have really tried to keep them somewhat unique to try and capture a lot of sounds. They also take up a ton of space. I also like to tinker so I stick to "mid-tier" instruments since I am not picky about much....but I DO like to swap out electronics and necks.

I think I have just about everything I could want covered...but there is always some room for more :)

It was one of his first...made just for me... I even think it says "MrBasseyPants" hidden in the neck joint. Sadly, I've basically never played it. The wiring harness was too vintage for me. I have a new wiring harness I have had for years that I need to install (it has the correct taper on the pots). I was going to sell it, but then I realized out of all my basses...this is the most custom one I have ever had.

With my latest bass, I’m at 5.

2020 Harley Benton RB-414
1991 Peavey Foundation
1998 Danelectro Longhorn
1981 Fernandes RB-80
1974 Gibson Ripper (the latest)

However, I only really play the Peavey and the Fernandes, and now the Ripper will join that rotation. Been loving it so far, as I loved the ones I tried which really inspired me to get it.

I think my GAS has pretty much been killed by the Ripper. That was a white whale of mine, and I find I have little interest in much else, now that I have it.

Seven years later...

I'm up to seven, but three that I play regularly. The JP90 remains. Then there's an MJT '54-spec Pbass, a '75 Jbass, an '83 L2000, a 2006 L1505, a '71 Musicmaster, and an '81 Rick 4003.

Hmm... =951555&c[users]=mikewalker&o=date']checking this thread, over the past eight years my count has fluctuated from as few as three to as many as 24.

Now down to just four, and after I sell the middle two here, soon to be only two (one of which I will send out west to hang in the studio gallery there).

so "There can only be one"... [planning move to 10x smaller quarters soon!]
