Just two currently, I regrettably sold my 78 MusicMan Sabre Bass last year. I had it professionslly
turned into a fretless, (maple fingerboard), and the luthier talked me into pulling the MM pups
and installing EMG P/J pups which sounded great. I stripped the finish, (too many years of cigarette
smoke ftom playing in bars), did a simple MinWax ghost finish and had Gotoh tuners installed.
The luthier did a beautiful job on the neck and headstock, filling the stock tuner screw holes
with mahogany mini dowels. He cut a white pickguard in a Stingray shape to match the
white EMG pups. Well, that was the one that got away!
I have my first bass bought in 1968, a Gibson EBO/3. I played it for over 25 years professionally,
and it morphed over the years. First adding Shaller tuners, then the bridge pickup with a
simple 3 way selector, (like on a Les Paul) installed on the pickguard. The neck pup died and I
replaced it with a Guild pup, which gave it more ooomph! Then I took it to Jim Williams who
did a great job putting a Parametric preamp with phase coil tap in it. That gave it a whole new
dimension, banishing the muddiness that EBs had. Finally, I ditched the original bridge, and
had a Wilkerson black bridge installed, which improved the string coupling. My other bass is a
2010 Hofner Club Bass CT. Which I really enjoy. Very good quality for the price, and that
beautiful Hofner thump! It's strung with Pyramid Flatwounds, my favorite strings.
I looking to add another bass before the end of the year, a Jazz Bass, maybe a D. Lakin

About as different from each other as you can get. That's how I like it.

8, Four Fender Jazz, one Ibanez SR700, one B.C. Rich Mockingbird, one SX Vintage series Jazz (old headstock), & one Squire VM Jazz natural finish....OH!, and one "Frankenstein" Jazz Bass AKA Frankness, so that makes it 9 altogether.

Same 3 as before:U.S. Lakland sunburst Bob Glaub with LaBella 760-FS flats-Sonic Blue 1997 U.S. Jazz with NJ4SE Pickups and my one- F Bass BN5 also Sunburst over flame maple Good tone all around.
