I simply cannot rationalize having basses I do not play. I had a NS WAV4 EUB that I loved to fool around on, and even brought it to a few rehearsals, but when $$ gets tight, and Im not using an ax to make $$.. out it goes..... because its a non essential. When I lost my job for 9 months in 09'....away went my Sadowsky. That sort of lean and mean perspective has kept me from having a bunch of spending capital lying around in the studio. And when I find a new bass I think will help me sound better ON GIGS, i consider which one I'll be replacing, rather than adding to the wall. Its one thing if your a hobbyist, and you have the room, $$, and time to play a few dozen different basses, but for the bulk of us that gig regularly, we all have that "go-to " ax that can always be rationalized. But 10 , 20 , 30 basses? Man, thats a buttload of $$. Kudos to those can can afford it. My biggest hope is Maybe I'll be able to get another Sadowsky someday.

Warwick Corvette 6 - bubinga, absolute tone monster.
Fender Standard Precision Bass - sunburst, flats, cops a sweet vintage sound.
Squier CV 50s P-Bass - LPB, looks great, sounds like a growly, modern rock P.
Squier Affinity P Bass - sunburst, introduced me to the world of Precision basses, about to be sold.
Yamaha RBX270J - most comfortable bass to play, love the P/J pickup configuration.
Ibanez AEB8E - my most recent acquisition, been playing it nonstop, sounds great plugged in.
Gliga III - Czech double bass, modeled after the Rabbath bass.

And that's it. Three of those have been purchased in the last six months! I don't plan on adding any more. I may do swapsies for similar basses but slightly different, or I might sell one or two, but I have no need for heaps of basses. Would love a vintage Fender, even a reissue, and a brand spanking new Streamer... But, I have a wedding to save for and I can only play one bass at a time!
