I have three. Plan to own about five. If I had ten or more I would never play them all.
I voted 10 - 20 was too many but YMMV.

Let's be honest...most of us could do just fine with only one bass the rest of our lives. Maybe two so you have a backup. Some can't, though. I could, but I have 9 anyway.
