How do you like the B3?

It is alright in my opinion, some guys really enjoy the modelling but I find it pales in comparison to my Roland MicroCube. It can get the job done and you can get some decent tones but I personally would not want to record with it unless it was a straight D.I.

I find most of the effects useless and rather low grade but there are some useful effects in there. The synth stuff tracks decently even though I would never use it. I have not found a good distortion from it but have found a useable chorus.

I paid $100 for mine though, it was practically NIB, at that price it is a great tool and I probably will not sell it any time soon just because the loop feature is fun to practice with and it saves me time from hooking up my RC-20XL, built in tuner and metronome as well.

I love Fenderbirds ... And I also like Jaguar basses. So I bought a bunch of parts and built a Thunder-Jag.

And I also like Rickenbacker 4004 basses, especially the trans red Cheyenne models. So I got this one and converted it into a 4 string bass.

I just started in March, so the short answer is:
All Of Them !

Started with a Synapse.
Decided I wanted to try fretless, bought a MPG Level-5 5-string.
Sold it back to the person I bought it from, making us both happy, because I was then able to buy a Roscoe fretless 6.
And found a Synapse fretless at the same time, so I have a matched pair there.
The original fretted Synapse now doesn't get much play as I'm concentrating on fretless.

LH1000 amp and Hartke 410, soon superceded by a GK 412 Neo more able to absorb the available power. The occasional effect pedal - compressor, B7K, chorus.

So - net 3, and all my needs are covered (so far...).

Started with my frankensquire, tribute l2000, early 90s atk, early 80s sb1, skyline 44-64sc.

Sold the tribute

Bought squire protune PJ and mid 80s Jazz bass special, and highway 1 jazz neck for frankensquire, and a cheap led Paul special guitar (to expand my skill set)

That should be it

Two new basses this year, a Squier VM Jazz fretless and now an Epiphone EB-3 is on its way. One new pedal - a BDI21.

Last year I bought two basses and sold two. Bought a new MIM Precision and a new CV 50s P-Bass. Due to money issues I had to sell the CV and a Warwick Corvette 6. Loved both, and I seriously regret selling my Warwick. Also bought a new amp, new cab, a WTDI, a pedal tuner, and a bunch of other stuff while I was gigging heavily. Not this year though.

I purchased 4 basses this year;
1. SX Ursa2 Ash and curly maple (Pbass) - new
2. Xavier long scale A/E bass - new
3. Fender MIM P/J - new
4. Rickenbacker 2030 Hamburg bass, used 1989 vintage.

5. I also purchased a new Ibanez Classical acoustic/electric single cut guitar.

6. Acoustic B200 bass amp - new

pics of #4 would be cool. good stuff

I have 2 kids that play guitar so I have to alot some resources to them...

Started playing (learning...) bass this time last year so got a use Ibanez 200 and too small 15w peavey practice amp.
Picked up a Yamaha RBX375 in february, a BP355 pedal in march and a Fender Rumble 75 after that.

All was quite till recently when the yamaha got traded on a dean jeff berlin player - LOVE this bass!

I don't use the BP355 since i got the rumble...may try it again or sell it off. My son wants a mandolin and my daughter a decent acoustic... For his birthday my son is getting a mustang V amp (amp and 4x10 cab) so each kid will have their own amp and his friends can come over and play.

A short scale bass of some kind is my next toy, maybe a beatle bass or something hollow body in nature.

In honor of all the GAS, indecision, bass swapping, hiding
stuff in closets....

I figured an end of year tally for the damage done might
be interesting to see.

Started the Year with 3 basses, squier VM Jazz, VM Jag, Epi EB0 and a little amp. OF which only the VM Jazz stayed.

1) New amp, 150w Rumble. Sold Epi EB0 and 20w acoustic amp
2) Bought CV Jazz
3) Bought used Squier PJ
4) Bought used Fender Deluxe Jazz

5) NBD! MIA P, yay! sold Fender and used PJ

6) NBD! MIM P in sexy LPB (awesome!) Sold CV

7) Bought new Yamaha 504. Returned under 30 days due to electrical issues. Traded for another Jazz. DOH!

8) NBD returned new jazz (less than 30 again, so sorry I will make up my mind soon) for sexy Walnut finish s.u.b.4
9) Sold VM jag yesterday, cuz sub4 is awesome

So technically I only bought one bass this year.....

Did you refinish that Jazz or did it come that way? Looks beautiful!
