Don't think I've seen a discussion of booking gigs during the shutdown? My philosophy is that anyone looking to book is someone you should cultivate NOW. Even if the gig doesn't happen you'll be rescheduled or at lest be on the list of the few that didn't turn them down when they needed you. One of my bands has one or two gigs a month booked out through August, a couple of those rescheduled from this or last month.
We are also letting it be known that we are available for "limited" re-openings - Heck, if you can only open at 25% capacity sell tickets for 5-10 bux and we'll play for that.
I've been following DeWine's plan closely. On one hand he wants to get things moving but on the other hand he is emphasizing caution. You can't serve two gods, so to speak. In general I have thought he has errored on the side of caution. What a foe the get back to work faction is.We have a casino gig booked in August. I'm not optimistic about it happening. Although Ohio is beginning the great reopening experiement in a few days, there is no anticipated opening date for bars, restautants and casinos.
Oh ... you're one of those ...... read the rest of the book, I seem to remember something about putting others before oneself.
I might be on the wrong track, but I think the book he is referring to is the Bible?I think you've got your books mixed up. Besides, I've not heard the U.S. constitution being called a book before, either. That's the 1st amendment that I quoted.
On a personal note, i’m seeing it more as an evolutionary correction. Once we beat the virus there will far fewer obstinate, gullible, impatient mouth breathers so it’s a net win for the human race any way you cut it.![]()
No, according to me the people not observing best practices when it’s obvious it’s working are obstinate, gullible, impatient mouth breathers. Many of the deceased are those who are being infected by the obstinate gullible, impatient mouth breathers, which i’m sure includes a certain number of obstinate, gullible impatient mouth breathers. Not all of them are dying but they are certainly doing their best to keep the numbers of deceased up.Wow... so according to you, the deceased were obstinate, gullible, impatient mouth breathers.... that’s fantastic! You must have some real kneeslappin’ material when it comes to other acquired viral infections... like Rabies, Ebola, Marburg, and such... how about you do a rant about HIV/AIDS victims next. Yeesh.

When you are out in public and you hear people saying covid is just one gigantic hoax because (insert bat poopie crazy theory here) And they are not going to be duped by it. How do you see that individual? As a responsible citizen? Yeesh. It’s way too early to assume anything with covid and those doing so are a danger to society.
As for me ranting, hardly. I’m expressing a personal opinion.
Ranting is taking a personal comment completely out if context as basis for a stern self righteous reprimand of someone whose personal opinion fails to dovetail with the personal opinion of the individual doing the ranting.
Since you asked for a rant on HIV/AIDS, i will show you an example of a rant on that subject, here goes.
As much evidence based knowledge as exists regards the transmission of HIV and the equal wealth of knowledge on how to avoid transmission, those failing to observe best practices with regard to spreading HIV are obstinate, gullible, impatient mouth breathers, most of whom still believe HIV is divine retribution for being gay.
Actually, i believe the above comment on HIV/AIDS is more uncomfortable truth than rant, but i could see where an obstinate, gullible, impatient mouth breather, especially those who truly believes HIV is divine retribution for being the “wrong” sexual orientation, might take it as a rant.
Hope this helps.
Fire away, I never edit posts once made. Exceptions are spelling errors and the like, but my personal opinion is what it is.This is fantastic material. And while I wasn’t necessarily interested in responding (because, let’s face it, you said what you said the first time), but there are just so many errors in your above quoted rant that I wanted to preserve it in its original form before you began to notice all the mistakes and edit the beauty of it away. Thanks for the laugh before work, I needed that. Be safe.

You should hear what I think of anyone at this point in our evolution trying crack, meth, or heroin for the first time. It makes obstinate, gullible, impatient mouth breathing covid deniers seem mensa-like in their wisdom.
I get you don't like my opinion but so far all I know is you don't like it. Please educate me if you believe I'm wrong here. I'm never too old to learn and I'm not too proud to admit my mistakes, but so far all you've offered is sidelong jabs at my opinion while offering no points for me to ponder that might convince me I need to see things differently. Enlighten me on my errors and I'll be happy to consider your opinion. After some consideration I may decide your opinion has merit and change mine, or I may decide you are so full of poopie your eyes are brown. Given our exchange up to now, I'm going with option 2, but I'm always open to be educated. I've always believed any day I don't learn something new is a wasted day, so teach me something new, explain how covid deniers are in any way doing anything but lending legitimacy to the soulless reavers exploiting the gullible and obstinate by pushing a narrative where this virus is a hoax.
Thanks for the above. You may be correct about some of these things (and wrong about some too), and I also may agree with some of your assertions; however that does not detract from the initial comments you made, which to me were certainly worth holding up and highlighting in a sort of “look at this guy” type fashion, as they were, perhaps inadvertently (? there’s your out) posed in such a way as to infer that the Southern Culture fan who made the “cure worse than the disease” comment was something of a Covid denier or mouthbreather fit for natural selection. That was, and will remain the primary thrust of my criticism. Any additional hyperbole is irrelevant to the topic and what follows isn’t meant to obfuscate the initial criticism.
I do appreciate your position on learning something new everyday, and taking the information others present as a means of self analysis (broadly speaking), so in that spirit I’d simply ask: Who are these Covid deniers you reference? I’m uncertain that there’s any relevant percentage of folks who do not believe this virus exist... and while some people have legitimate questions about the way this has been managed by various parties on state and federal levels, it’s perhaps important not to conflate their concerns with a lack of respect for the virus. The very slim margin of folks who do refuse to conform to social distancing guidelines are outliers (and a$$h@les too) compared to the overwhelmingly vast overall majority of folks who do operate accordingly, and so the outliers as such make a poor mythical “they” when it comes to attempting to reframe the context of your initial statement. Also, if like many folks confined to their residences, you’re finding yourself flooded with commentary demonizing the mythical “they”, you may want to question if what you’re hearing is actual journalism or mere scripted editorializing. There’s a relevant distinction (and I’m sure you agree) in the same way that there’s a difference between actual wrestling and sports entertainment, and the latter shouldn’t be taken as credible material by which we formulate our worldview/perceptions, especially when it come to how we perceive those with whom we disagree.
Anyway, it’s been a hoot, but I have work to attend to. Stay safe out there, and wash your hands, folks. Shalom.
