How many gigs have you played?

Geez... all together with the various bands and groups... I'd say it's in the 300 range... which is being fairly modest.

Tho I did find an old calendar from 1997. 318 gigs in 1997.That is certainly (by far)the busiest year I've had playing.

I figured out a few years ago that I had done around 1300, tack on another 300 or so for the last few years to bring me to (around) 1600 (for 30 years of gigging)

First paid gig was a week after I got my own first bass at the tender age of 13, around 1970. Had two more with that 'band', if you could call it that. No more till around '78 and kind of sputtered through the years with just an occasional one until '81. Less than 40 or 50 a year until 1992. I can't remember them all of course, but my best guess is in the 3500-3700 range. I'm gigging more now than ever though, and really do enjoy it.

With my present cover band (that I just gave notice to!) I've done close to 80 shows since November 08...

2+ years high school dance rock band '72-4, Fri +Sat high school union gigs - some weeks off, so 180

College gigs '77-9, both performance (15) & weekend gigs (30)

T-40 '80-5, 4 to 7 nights a week, with time between bands (800)

Original bands '85-'95 (200)

Plus gigs since moving here in '96 (200)

so around 1,400.
