For several years after I went overseas, I played no music, then I back got into guitar. My last assignment, I worked 12 hr days 7 days a week, I I got fanatic about practicing so I did an hour before work and a half hour or so on the lunch break, both at my desk with an unamplified beatle bass. I didnt play after work cuz I was so freakin tired and practicing when tired is not productive.

The I got back to the states and quit playing due to job and family issues for about a year and a half..

I retired in January, and I try to do 4 hours a day of true focused structured practice 5 days a week, plus playing gigs and going to jam sessions. My last and final road trip had lots of downtime driving (4000 miles in 10 days). While driving, I would do music theory (and math) in my head.

Doing 4 hrs a day is hard. TB is my biggest challenge.

Less and less as I get older it seems.
2 hours bass in the morning, 2 in the afternoon.
2 45 minute sessions of learning piano - was up to 3 hrs/day -- cut back.
and maybe 1/2 hour learning guitar. Not really holding my attention like I thought it would.

This is everyday and does not include rehearsals or performance.

[edit] lol - read the vote wrong! Thought it was hours per day, so voted 6. Um..... 10+. silly man! :D
