How many sales did you make on your last effort?

I'm interested in how independent recording efforts are fairing in 2014.

(1) Genre?
(2)mp3/CD/other?
(3) total sales (number of, not money from) so far?

Full disclosure. (mine)
1--Reggae/Dub
2-- mp3.
3-- Three. not including streaming from spotify and such.

I'm working on my first album/CD.. I don't play live, just in studio. No advertising or anything. I just threw the mp3 on Amazon.com and I got 3 sales..

Genre: Alternative/Indie Rock (you can hear it in my signature if you're curious)
Format: MP3 downloads, CDs, and Vinyl
Numbers: Not actually sure :) ... and to be fair, our release has been out for just shy of two years now so this is not just on 2014 numbers alone)

We put our album up for free download on Bandcamp (link below) and all the meanwhile we were selling/giving away CDs at shows (depends on what mood you catch us in and if there is other merch purchases like shirts happening), and only started selling the vinyl within the past half of a year or so. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say we've probably had at least 50+ free album downloads, given away or sold probably closer to the 200 range for CDs, and sold probably about 50 or so of the vinyl release thus far.

Genre: Metal
Format: CD
Numbers: Probably around 35

Marko138 would probably have a better idea and mp3 sale numbers

also, bands chart on billboard in the metal catergory with under 1000 albums all the time so I think 35 is pretty awesome. LOL
35-40 is accurate. We pressed 50. Kept a few for ourselves. Sold the rest, including a number of them through exclusive pre-order.

Downloads have always been sketchy for purchase. We've had the old EP, which I do not have physical cd sales numbers for, downloaded in over 25 countries. But it was a free download. All time downloads of 2 EPs and 1 demo track is 227. Plus we get a few bucks a month for streaming. Total streams through bandcamp is 3,044. I'd guess we sold a couple hundred of the first EP CDs.

Not bad numbers for a bunch of so called failures. LOL.

My last CD release was 1996.

I'm pretty sure we sold WAAAAAY more than 100.

Very cool. thanks!

Mind you, I don't mean 100,000.

I literally mean 100.

that's 97 more than me..

We paid to print 1,000.

We sold somewhere between 100-200, and put a bunch out there for college radio. We actually charted at the time, and sometimes you find discs with college radio station call letters in sharpie for sale around $3.00 online.

I've given a ton of them away over the years, and easily have over 500 in boxes, shrink wrapped and ready to go.

The band broke up under nasty, acrimonious circumstances before we ever really got going.
