How many songs can you play?

I haven't read through all of the replies so far so forgive me if this is a repeat, but knowing a song on one instrument doesn't mean you know how to play all of the parts. I know some songs on bass but can't play the rhythm guitar part, others I know the guitar solo and the piano, but haven't figured out the bass yet... When you ask how many songs we know the actual answer is very few intimately.

Since I started back up playing in 2005, after a many year hiatus I've maintained an alphabetized word doc list with all the songs I've played in a band setting.

A new song doesn't make the list until I actually play it with the band so a bunch of songs that were discussed but we never got around to playing - but I learned anyway - or songs I learned just to play along with the recording at home or stuff we jammed around a bit don't make the list.

I have 490 songs on my list alphabetically ranging from 38 special to ZZ Top.

Interesting is that when I get a set list from a prospective new band typicality a little more than half of the new songs are on my list.
