Double Bass How much amp to take to college?

IIRC, FITZGEARHEAD used to run a Clarus into a 2x10 when he used to double and said that it was sounded fine.

You might look into an eden wt400 amp...small, rackable, powerfull, doubles well.
A new 1-12 cab on the market that interest me is the schroeder mini 112. 38 lbs, very small, rated for 500 watts. I've used his stuff before and find it very nice. I have yet to try this one.

Sorry Chef-no plans to sell the 2X12-other than it being a heavy cab [75 pounds] this cab taught me that i do not need to own bigger than that. It's a 4 ohm cab-so 1k @ 4 isn't bad...i generally bridge the carvin into it for added headroom. However, if you're interested in the 2X10-PM me and we'll talk.

I emailed Brian Barret about the Schroeder Mini 1X12. That thing sounds interesting.

I emailed Bass Central to ask about an Ashborn mini 1X12-i couldn't find the weight of that cab. Also-it doesn't take much power [200 @ 8 ohms] so i figured i could power it w/a Carvin DCM150 [a whole 150 watts @ 8 ohms bridged]. DCM150+SansAmp RPM in a rack bag = less than 20 pounds.

I just walked in the door so i will post more when i'm done with a few things.

Update for what i ended up with.

I bought a used SWR Workingman's 12 from Bass NW for $390 shipped.

If i had the money-i would love to go w/EA or AI, but funds didn't permit it.
