How Much Is My Bass Worth?

So I wasn't sure whether to post this here or in the classified section. Money is becoming a little tight so I have been considering selling my 08 MIA Jazz. It is in mint condition and rarely played. How much could I get in a outright sell? Also how much would I get ripped if I were to sell it to Sam Ash because I have one right down the street from me. I am so torn on doing this but it is looking more and more like a reality pretty soon. Just wanted to get an idea. Thanks:)

Oly White wasn't the most popular in the '08s and GC did a close out on these. I know I picked up one!

I'd say you're looking at maybe $450-500 in a trade (assuming they have a 50% mark up) and around $750-$800 in a private sale, if it is the condition you describe.

Good luck and I hope you get what you need/want.

not sure how the market is where you live but I couldn't sell my MIA Jazz with maple board and Lake Placid Blue finish from the 90's for $700 in a month of the ad being up. It also featured some upgraded DiMarzio pups which were about $100. I let it go for about $600 and I got less than what I paid for it but eh the economy was better when I bought it :P
However i have seen them sell for $700 and plus before so best of luck to you!

Sell it private - TB or maybe Craigslist. You'll get more $$$ back.

The 08's are supposed to be quite improved over the previous few years, correct? I've heard great things about them, but haven't played one.

I'd say with that color combo, maybe you could shoot for anywhere between $700-900? Heck, aim high - especially if those are the true players basses they're supposed to be.

A brand new Fender Jazz outside america is a lot more expensive.

With the free trade agreement between Oz and the USA, a lot of aussies are importing gats n axes from the US, to save the dollars, as USA made instruments are notoriously expensive down under.
Think $2k for a Fender, $2.5k for a Stingray base model etc...

Maybe try listing it in the International part of TB, ebay under international, maybe even try listing the OZBASS????

You may be able to get your asking price that way.
