HOW MUCH MORE VOLUME

2 different cabs a 112 8ohm 500w and a 212 8ohm 500w cab, will the 212 be significantly louder? these are the avatar212 neo with 2-250w speakers and the avatar 112 with thier new 500w speaker. like the size of the 112 but not enough to give up alot of volume. would be ran with an avatar 210 and gk 700rbii head.thanks for any input.

In the bass, where displacement is the limiting factor, the two will be roughly equivalent. Above that, where sensitivity is the limiting factor, the 212 will run about 3dB hotter. But I wouldn't run either with a 210. I'd run a 115 loaded with a 3015LF, if you can find one.

In general, the more speakers you add the more volume and sound dispersement you'll have. Just watch out for ohm impedances when adding more cabs as you don't want to exceed the minimum ohm limit for your amp.

I would run both cabs if you already own them since you say they are 8 ohms each, that would give a 4 ohm load that is safe for your amp. I believe you can never have enough volume, but you can always turn down if need be.

i don,t own them yet, iown the 210 with a peavey 115 and am getting rid of the peavey, i had thoughts of putting a 3015 in the peavey but cab is to big, so decided to replace with either 112 or 212

-1. There is no replacement for displacement. If the 500 watt driver you referred to is a 3012LF it's about 500cc, the 212 is about 600cc, while a 3015LF is 850cc. Want to play through small cabs? Sell the bass, learn guitar.

i know bass equipment is bigger and and heavier but a damn near 100lb 115 for cab is pretty ridiculous and a back killer,

I agree, there's no excuse for a 1x15 weighing in at more than 50 pounds.

Perhaps......and perhaps not.

the 2 12"s will be push more air than 1 12"...

the 115 actually sounds great its just begining to be a bit much to haul around. my thoughts were if i could keep the same volume level with the avatar 112, it would be alot easier to handle, even the 212 if that was needed to keep the same lvel would be better to move. i gues the better question would have been if the 112 avatar could keep up with the 115 peavey tvx

Many manufacturers prefer thicker plywood, because it's cheaper than the labor to install internal bracing. They don't care about the weight, because they won't be lifting it much.

Even worse, some companies use particle board, which is heavier.

That depends on the displacement limited power handling of the two cabs in question. The only way to know for sure is to find out the Vd spec on the Peavey and Avatar drivers in question. BTW, currently the Avatar site only shows one 500w 1x12 option, the Delta 12LF, and it has no more displacement than the 250w neo drivers they use and therefore will not go any louder. The different wattage ratings are meaningless.
