How much should I pay for used MIA P bass?

Hi, before you scream at me "go research !" I just want a general indicator of how much a MIA, non-vintage, good to near mint condition, black, maple neck P bass is generally worth?

I will be watching ebay and the talk-bass classifieds over the next month to build up a picture of what I should pay too since i'm really out of the loop at the moment.

In my area, I would expect to pick one of these up for around $700. Naturally, a case and accessories can easily drive that price up. These are usually listed in the $850-1000 range around here.

$900 would be the most I'd pay. You may have to wait a bit to find one at that price, but they retail at $1100-$1200 all day long brand new, and 75% of retail is pretty fair on a used bass. I've seen them as low as $600.
