How much water do you drink a day?

Right. And since water has no caffeine, there's no point in drinking it in the morning. Regardless, the water recommendations are rather silly. Try them with a 65 year old prostate and you'll have a desk in the bathroom too.
Well, to be fair, It's not as bad if your used to doing it, like said i drink twice the recended amount and I have no problems. But I've always drank a lot of water, and I'm not quite 60 yet. They make a thing called "Water Joe" now, that is caffeinated water. But eh, I love coffee not only because of caffeine, and I'm sure you feel the same way because once you've acquired a black coffee taste...

My wife and I each drink at least a half gallon per day; I'm probably closer to a gallon.

I think a lot of people don't drink enough because they're unwilling to cut back on their coffee and/or soda/energy drink consumption. I have 1-2 sodas a week, my wife has none and neither of us drinks coffee.

This is real close to us. Neither of us really drink pop or coffee these days. It took me a while to get wifey to drink enough water and mostly weaned off coffee. She has a cup on occasion but it's so rare she doesn't keep any makings at the house. I've never been a coffee drinker to amount to anything. If it's cold out and I'm gonna be out in it or if I've got a long drive ahead of me I'll have a cup. The reason for this is a single cup of coffee and you have to peel me off the ceiling.

Oh, I didn't say he couldn't have his morning cup of coffee. But he's got more caffeine than water going.

Edit for phone. Yup, I'm blaming the phone.
Right, and Im defiantly someone who whole heartedly recommends you drink a lot of water. However, Water isn't going to get Pilgrim here through his office shift. I understand how someone who has to work in an office wouldn't want to just start drinking that much water, every day, especially if they never really have drank that much water regulary.

How many scoops do you use man 15?:hyper:

I was advised by my doctor to up my water consumption and quit coffee to control borderline high blood pressure, and it worked for me. I have to say I feel better overall too. I am drinking about the recommended amount of 64 oz. of water per day. When I drank 4 cups of coffee daily that seemed like too much, but without coffee it is doable.

I'm not sure exactly how much, but it's a lot. I don't shoot for any specific amount.

The latest recommended daily amount I've heard is one ounce of water for every two pounds of body weight. For example: if you weigh 200 pounds, you should try to drink 100 ounces of water a day. For 100 pounds, 50 ounces. YMMV.

I once handed my sample over to the nurse who held it up and took one look at the container and exclaimed "Ooh, concentrated!"
It was about as yellow as the broth from a can of Cambpell's Chicken Noodle Soup, which I haven't consumed since the late 60's!

I read somewhere that a good gauge is to drink at least half your body weight in ounces.
At the beginning, I had to separate and number several containers to make sure I drank all of them.

Of course whatever you drink should be spread out during the course of the day, as opposed to drinking only one overly-massive amount in the morning.

I gauge mine by its color, which I try to keep as close to white as possible each and every time I dispose of it.

Cup, pint, quart, gallon, oz, bottle

I have no idea how to relate this to any meaningful metrics.

Past week I've been working on building a shed at one of our country places. We've had around 25 Celsius and no clouds, and I've been on the roof with tar paper. I've probably been downing about 4 litres a day, without peeing all day. I think that's a gallon and then some. And no, I haven't really paid attention to the shade of yellow, once I had to go in the evening.

Normally I'll probably drink about a 3/4 litre of water, and about a litre of coffee. I don't see the problem with that. If I'm thirsty I'll drink. If caffeine was diuretic enough to cause a problem I'd be shrivelled up like a raisin by now.

Since I really don't enjoy drinking water, this is good weight-loss incentive. Thank you.

It is, probably not enough to cause a problem though.I've always thought that as long as you don't go through a exsesesive amount, coffee is good for you. It's probably not, but if I don't have it I sure don't feel quite right
