how much...?

The answer is a bit complex as there are a number of different woods you could use. The huge contingent of Fender Clone Assemblers swear by Alder and Swamp Ash and you can buy the body blanks from Ebay, Stew Mac, Luthiers Mercantile and many other places. The Prices vary by seller.

There are others such as Poplar, Mahogany, Walnut, Maple, Basswood, Spanish Cedar, Butternut, Sassafrass, Sycamore, elm, Limba, Shedua etc. I think you get the concept.

I used Douglas Fir - free. It works well and don't get swept into the mystique that there's a special tone from special woods.

Pretty? Yup, maybe. But there's no tonal differences in the wood.
