How (musically) "famous" are you?

A good many people who are 'famous' usually prefer to remain anonymous.

Unfortunately a good many people who are not famous prefer to find ways to appear famous.

If more people chased the art over fame there's be a lot more quality music out there.

You're missing the point of the thread. It's not to see who really is famous here. (That's why "famous" is in quotes.) Nor is it to encourage chasing fame over art. In fact, quite the opposite.

The point of the thread is to celebrate that a lot of people, who are neither famous nor who have particularly "chased" fame, have nevertheless had a lot of very cool experiences. I know I've been blessed to have done a lot of cool things I never thought I would ever do, as a result of playing bass and guitar.

One of the reasons I'm here is to listen about those experiences that others have had. If you have a story, please tell it.

Numerous times. Helps that I co-hosted a radio show for a bit.

In addition to the Public Access, I appeared on "Las Comadres Con Gloria B" three times, which is the Telemundo morning show. Awesome stuff!

Lotsa times.

A couple times, and I own one now (startup label, basically for my own stuff and the collective I'm part of.)

Been signed to a major label?
Signed and dropped by Virgin (pop-rock project I was a part of for a bit)

A couple times. Always fun.

Gone on a national or international tour?
Not yet. Really want to soon.

Too many times. Not gonna name drop here (you can go to my myspace for that!)

Almost every week for a while!

If by that you mean played before during a multi-band show, then yes, I've followed famous people.

A few times, all random occurrences at the mall, or the grocery store.

My post was (largely) intended to be humourous. The vocalist in my band hails from Austria and our first album has been receiving some heavy rotation on a German radio station called 'Deafness Radio'. Recently, he and the drummer performed a 'call-in' interview on the air, which went pretty well. Oh, we are also in rotation on a Dutch radio station. Anyone want to tour Germany/Holland?

Famous? Ha..!!!

I've never been interviewed, but the band DID have their picture published as part of an ad for the Go section of our local newspaper. My son is quite the musician and he and I have recorded a couple of CDs in a local studio. As luck would have it, we had a connection and his song got one play on a local station. So yeah something I played made it on radio.

I guess that's the extent of my fame, but I will say this...the more I play, and the more people I play in front of, the more I get asked to play!!!

That sounds cool.

I'd love to tour somewhere even outside Florida, much less Europe. Job and family have kept me in my home state so far.
