How to add a switch for the tweeter on an Orange OBC410?

I just picked up a used old Orange OBC410. The back plate looks similar to this one. (sorry for the large picture, its the only one i could find on google) I'm assuming its an older model? I'm not too educated on Orange stuff. I just know it sounds a lot better than my last cab.

Is there a simple way to add a toggle switch to the tweeter? a HIGH/OFF/LOW type of set up?

Yes a DPDT switch with an attenuation circuit on one side, nothing in the middle, and the regular configuration on the other side. An attenuation circuit calculator can be found online. You might even be able to find a diagram for the whole thing.

Or, ideally just take the tweeter out of the circuit completely.

You can just disconnect the tweeter. Tape up or otherwise insulate the exposed ends of the wires so they can't short to something else inside the box. Actually, it's likely possible to just unscrew that input plate and gently pull it out a short way to get access to the tweeter wires there, without opening up the cab. This is operating on the presumption that the crossover function is achieved on the backside of that plate, which is not an uncommon arrangement. If that's not the case, you'll need to get inside the box.

Whether its an easy job or not depends on what's the other side of the plate. If its got separate sockets for each input then its easy. If they are all soldered directly to a circuit board containing the crossover/HPF then its more complicated. In that case the quick and dirty solution is to make a new metal plate, buy three new plugs wired straight to the woofer and wrap the original plate up in bubblewrap and stow it away somewhere.

If you want a switch with that box then not the smallest challenge will be installing it in such a way it doesn't get bashed off in transit. Again a new plate might be a good option. If you're lucky one of the ready made dished ones might fit.
