How to clean a Tiger ebony fretboard ?

Hi,
I need some advice to clean this kind of fretboard,i will soon receive a second hand Warwick limited 2013, the fretboard really need some cleaning
At first i'm thinking of using some steel wool to remove all the dirt, do you think i can use " Howard feed and wax on it once it is clean ?

First, a disclaimer. In view of recent criticism of some of my posts: I am not telling you what to do. I am not giving you advice. This what I know about the subject, and what I have done in the past - successfully. Please feel free to do whatever you want, okay? So..
There's a large school of thought that says steel wool and basses (or guitars) should never meet - ever. I happen to agree. For an instrument that's got a lot of serious spooge on it, I've found that a fairly soft plastic brush - tooth brush, or a surgical scrub brush (my favorite) - and Simple Green works very well. I don't let it stand on the wood and soak in, though. I just spray it on; scrub like I mean it; and wipe it all off as soon as I'm done. Murphy's Oil Soap works very well, too. I've never had an instrument that was funky enough to need it, but it's done wonders on some really nasty gun stocks and wooden pistol grips. It's pretty messy, though, and harder to clean up afterwards. Simple Green has always worked well for me.
After it's all clean and nice? What you do to it afterwards is up to you. I'll just get ragged on again if I go any further...

I’ll second the simple green advice. That and a toothbrush or soft rubber brush, I think Lee Valley Tools has one under world’s kindest nail brush, has always worked well for me. Never needed anything more aggressive.

Oiling or waxing is up to you. There’s been a variety of threads on that.
