How to clean pots on a Guild Starfire II semihollow?

Hi,
Just wondering if any of the pros here could guide me through cleaning the pots on my Guild Starfire II.
Its a reissue with Curtis Novak pickups. I was thinking I lift the bridge pickup out and then have access to the pots that way...take the knobs off loosen and accessing the pots through the pickup opening or f-hole?
I appreciate any help.

Really, just however you can get it done. A long straw on your cleaner will help but seeing in there is the biggest problem. Removing the entire harness is the only other choice and in reality probably the best choice if you use the secret method: attach surgical tumbling to the threads on the pots before you pull them out through the pickup hole and a 1/4” plug end plugged into the jack with a string tied to it.

Before you go to all that trouble, be sure you work your pots thoroughly.

Turn them from one extreme to the other MANY times. Have the instrument plugged into an amp so you can hear any improvement.

Often this will be enough to loosen whatever build up is causing the problem.

I would remove the knobs and spray or drip a small amount of Deoxit down the shaft(s), then twist shaft back and forth a dozen times.

Yes. There’s a rubber tube in there that grips the threads. Tighten the thumbscrews to seal it. Insert spray tube in the hole in the side. Spray. The pressure forces juice into the shaft gap. The pressure retention is key to being better than just trying to dribble it in the shaft. I would also stuff some paper towel in below the pots to avoid a bunch of cleaner dripping onto the bare wood inside.

Stewmac make a similar gizmo but it’s twice the price.
