How to get this tone?

You're going to need a bass made at least before 1965, with an amplifier made before the invention of solid state. You could probably cop the tone with a double bass made in the 1600s, but 1500s would be safer.

Oh and don't forget the bass whammy into deep impact, that's vital.

How do you think I'd be able to get this tone? I really love how it sounds and am wondering if I get it with any effects.
I basically have a GK 1001rb MK II neo 4X10 and Jazz bass with Ultra Jazz picks ups.
Thanks!

Why would you want to copy these freakin posers???

My girl was laughin at that singers hair and facial expressions. WOW. Can you say gayer version of Nikki Sixx?

wow... i clicked on the first link by the op, and well... i feel dirty... and used... like a 3 dollar hooker in Thailand...

how do you get that tone?

simple. roll everything including the volume to 0. any bass, any amp... well... it dosn't have to be a bass... and you really don't need an amp. who would wanna sound like that, anyway? i guess i don't have room to talk. people say my band sounds like nickelback. but at least nickelback is this generations ac/dc.

Then again I still am mostly a guitarist.

DING DING DING!! We have a winner!!
a great example of why great bassists are so rare and unappreciated in this day and age:
because every guitarist "knows" what they want from a bassist, and will accept nothing less.
:scowl:

that said, devote more time to bass and the great bassists. get into if you're going to do it. go all the way, or go home.
there's great tone and great fun to be had, and we'd love to have you in the club, but you gotta do your homework.
:D
