How to list basses for sale

You're only allowed 10 open FS ads now on TB. I was notified this week that I had too many open classified ads open. Admittedly I had several WTB ads that were old. As such I might consider lumping similar basses together.

Don't try to sell them all at once. It is too much to keep track of and you're likely to ship a bass to the wrong buyer.

List two or 3 at a time (individual ads probably) and as each sells / ships out, put up another ad.

Lump the Sires together in one ad, lump the Carvins in one ad. Everything else can either be individual or together.

Sometimes an add with a bunch of different basses will get more clicks just because people are curious to see what’s inside.
Not sure if that translates to better sales though.

I did one big ad of everything for sale just to get the ball rolling. As the project progressed, I did ads with pictures and info, (including a digital scale and bass picture and the exact weight).

It helps to be in the right sections, basses, effects, amps and cabs and have keywords in the ad title.

The basement looked like a pack and ship operation for months. I’ll have the basses packed and ready to go, but only seal the package when it ships, in case I need more pictures, or a string swap, or any other thing that pops up. I get pictures of the package when it ships hand it off to the shipper. Insure and track the package.

Screen the buyers, it’s time well spent. Price it to sell, check for similar items and asking prices, go a bit lower.

I always list separately. I think it is important to take good pics ( no toe/feet shots ), and short and sweet description. And do a spell check. Good luck and have patience as the market is slow.

List separately. You want to make it as easy as possible for the person looking for your bass.

Here’s a pro tip - if someone offers you cash money to come and buy your bass at a place of your choosing, don’t blow them off.

Would you mind I give you a suggestion? Do not sell your basses. Try to open a music school with 11 students, to each musician you provide 1 of your basses to them study and play at the school, but to play at their homes or with their bands they have to purchase a brand new bass.

Then you tell to us at this topic about the progress of your school, To protect the privacy of your musicians dont't tell about them at this thread, but talk about the bass of your school the musician is playing. When your musicians play well and achieve success at their career your talk about the bass you provided to them.

That this bass have good sound, hardware or painting, show photos of the bass and describe it according your creativity but linked with the musician reality. If the musician "kiss my ass", "brokeback" "dickpoopie" or something like this you share the bass have worn out, needs upgrade or adjust parts, painting, new hardware or inlays.

Don't tell wich bass is each musician. Don't tell your musicians about this thread, however if they ocasionaly discover is up to you discover or deny, because social media works this way.

It's a way of promote music playing and refresh the market.

I have about 11 basses that I would like to sell. They have been sitting in a closet for a while and it is time to get them into someone’s hands that will play them.

Is it best to have one big post with all the basses in it or post them all separately? Looking to get them on this site within the next few days. Thanks for your advise.

Rule # 1 make sure you list the weight for anything you wish to sell.

Rule # 2 Comply with rule one.

Rule # 3, if you didn’t comply with rule # 1 expect a ton of responses inquiring as ton how much it weighs. Mostly from some that are not at all even slightly interested in buying.

Tip, if it is a guitar and or bass with round wounds make sure they are fresh. If it’s a bass with flats they should be older than Mamie Eisenhower.
