How to Measure Scale Length

I think this question may have already been on this site, but I can't seem to find it....

But how does measure the scale length of a bass?

Does one measure it from the the nut and then to the end of the scale where the neck joins the body....

The "end of the fretboard" is not the same as the "end of the scale". The scale length is the vibrating length of the string, and the standard way to measure it is to measure from the nut to the 12th fret and multiply by 2 (to get around slight differences in length that result from intonation adjustments at the bridge saddle).

Does anybody knows what kind of bass Strings should come tunned on the Washburn Basses... i have 2 basses by Washburn Guitars and i need to replace the Strings.. the first one: Washburn XB-925 (24Fts) 5 Strings.. the Second one: Washburn XB-200 (24 frts) 4 Strings Color red on my profile picture .. i dont know even what strings are better... Ernie Ball or D'addario. i play Christian Rock, and Contemporary Worship music.. Blessings

The second Post in the thread explains how to measure scale length. Your bass looks like it's probably long scale. Ernie and D'Addario are two big brands that make strings. Which one is better is subjective.
