Thank you for your inputs. My background is I work as a live sound technician for a band, while also make music/short film scores EXCLUSIVELY with virtual instruments on my laptop on the side. Bass just seemed to be one of the first hands-on instruments I decided to pick up. Thus the silly question, haha.

Built-in loopers also seem to be a bit limited, or require lots of tap-dancing to access. Meaning in some cases, you still may end up wanting other pedals, which adds to the complexity.
