So after playing only clubs I gigged with a band that did weddings (gotta pay the rent)
SO during the very quiet cocktail set at a country club one afternoon I had to jack my mike up and realized the battery was shot. In my BLUE TUXEDO I unstrapped the ax going on break to get a double A. Just then a geezer came up to me. I eyed him realizing I was standing in front of my acoustic 370/301 with 2 - 10's in a separate cab on top (a place of power). I felt no fear.
He asked, "How's your battery?"
For a nanosecond I thought...how cool is this...must be an audiophile or engineer from the golden days realizing my condenser mike was fading fast...my shields went down...
Then he got more specific. "YOUR HEARING AID BATTERY!"
Oh well...there's no reasoning with a person who thinks your amp "looks" too loud.
Later that day he must have appreciated our quiet first set...or not...either way, his children hustled him away and the crowd had a great time. And the acoustic 370 never got turned above 2.
