Huge amps and back trouble?

I'm surprised there aren't more more people who slave a smaller tube head, taking it's speaker output into a dummy load or real speaker and putting it into a lighter weight but more powerful solid state power amp. That would be close to the best of both worlds.Only drawback would be the extra setup required.

And there you go so simple, but so many clueless companys try to get "tube" tone with 12ax7 preamps. And Hughs and Ketner almost got it when they used ratty garbage EL84's going to a real output transformer.

All you gots to do is use real tubes like a 6l6 or 6550 pair and put about 20 watts into a small transformer. and then actually run the signal from the output transformer like a million fender and sunn amps with recording outputs did a billion years ago.

better yet use a simple high quality DI transformer, and then you have a low noise balanced out.

Or you just use a real 135 to 150watt 6l6, 6550 quad and run 2 2x12 cabinets as a vertical stack.

Or shave 20 pounds by using a garbage switch mode power like peavey.

But instead of using crappy cheap output transformers with raspy junk EL 34's

Just blast 8 Kt 88's with a real chunk of Iron and you could have the first 40 pound 400 watt all tube amplifier.

you know that one thing that every manufacture has failed to do......and me the moron of all time just designed.

You know, some real smart guy came up with these things. Boy they work good. No back pain!

For the most part. And some more smarter guys put those wheelie thingys on speaker cabinets. So plop speaker cabinet, then plop head on top...then push away into the door.

Until you reach the stairs and then it sounds like this.....

plop ####!!..... plop ####!!...... plop ####!!!!.... I hate stairs......####!!
I will just carry it before I mess up my tubes. ####!!!!!! this is heavy.

hah hah :D dont get me wrong i like my tubes and 8x10 they are heavy...I mean ####!!!! they are heavy.
