Here it goes I bought a HBU Oc.4 natural from www.musicstore.de in june 08.
Was very pleased with it. All ive done is change from the factory shipped Dadd.. strings to elixirs 40-95.
Still happy with it, the action was still a bit too high i didn´t bother changing anything cause ive had very
little time playing this bass due to personal matters ( My dad passed away and other things)
So its been in the gig bag 99% of the time since i got it. Still happy with the tone but not the action.
Now when things has calmed down in my life i thought i should setup the bass the way i want it(Low action almost straight neck).
And here is where the trouble started.!
Looking down the neck on the E/A string side everything looks great almost straight, just a slight bit of relief no problems.
I though hmm great. But why does the D and G string feel higher then?
So then i look on the G/D string side down the neck and it is not straight at all.....
looks like the E string side would have looked if i would have released the trussrod like half a 1/4 turn (or something , you get what i mean)..
.like what is going on here?
And thats not the end of it.
Looking down the G/D string i see that the frets from about fret 16-17 and all the way to 24 are higher than the rest of the
frets once again only on the G/D string side ,its not the frets really it is the whole neck that is completely straight
at those frets its like the fretboard wood is risen up at those particular frets.
So this means i can´t get a low action on the G/D side but on the E/A side its fine.

MORE problems..i feel that the tuners are a bit lose well no problems i think .
Remove strings and tighten them firmly with a wrench .removing the E string and....Plonk!! E tuner falls out....
.. and when putting it back it cant be tightened at all cause the screw threads are gone
(and no this is not the first bass ive owned,and no i did not overtighten there was nothing to screw in at all)
.Ok no problems tightening the other 3 tuners though, fine. ? NO more issues!!!
I think, well i give it a go and lower the G string on the bridge and see what happens.
NOTHING happens at all cause the G strings bridge adjustement screw (height/locking screw) are already at the bottom
it can not be lowered any more at all = it must have been a the lowest setting all the time cause i havent touched it
and the screws(well it´s only one screw actually ) where tightened.
Well that`s about it besides the fact that the frets seem to have crawled out so much on the sides i can actually
hurt myself playing the upper frets!!(Wich i can´t anyways cause of above mentioned reasons).
The bass has not left my home or even been out the door sinse i got it, so it has not been a victim of drastic temp changes or anything like that.
Well anyways i REALLY love the looks and sound on this bass.
I just want to know your thoughts on how i should address these issues ?
(In Us $ i paid almost 2000$ as the $ was lower back in june 08) at that price i think the least
i can demand is a straight neck and the ability to adjust the height on the strings!
How do i go about with this? Do i contact Musicstore.de and say what? What would you have done ?.
