Humidifcation

Not a stranger to cold and dry living in the burbs of Chicago where it a balmy 21° up from -5°. We have had several "portable" humidifiers including ultrasonic and evaporative. We now have an Aprilaire 800 steam humidifier installed on our furnace. It was costly, $1000 at the time. But it works great.

The humidifier we liked the best was the Air Innovations one that we got off of ebay. Ours was black and it was (of course) cheaper back a few years ago . It has some sort of filters in the tanks and we do not get white dust as we had in previous humidifiers. We also have an evaporative one in my office/studio on standby if it gets too dry. I try to keep us at 40%. My Martin acoustic doesn't like too much more humidity and sounds like a blanket gets thrown over it if it goes up over 45%.
