Yes, follow the good advice to do your homework too. Sadly most Docs are now part practitioner, part salesman.
I didn't mention in my first post, I'm nursing lower back pain this week. I'm to the point where it's pretty hard to define. First off, it's the first severe lower back pain in years.
So, sacro issues a combination of thin L4-5 disks, facet joint syndome and piriformis syndrome and gluteus minimus cramping.
The Chiro wasn't able to find anything locked, but the good news is he gave me a full length adjustment cause he felt bad and my neck feels great now.He told me I need to come more often and proved it I guess.
Anyway I'm in a vicious cycle of muscle/bone/nerve what is aggravating what or are they all aggravating each other syndrome. Stretching exercises massaging to release cramped muscles and Naproxen are helping. Recognizing my physical limitations has been essential and the hardest, but it's that or only blame myself for getting worse.
My point is try to avoid getting to this point.
When you are young, you have nice fat juicy disks to push on nerves and torture you. Then they disappear and everything starts grinding on everything else. Muscles knot up , and usually that is the worst, and stretching and massage help a lot.
Take care of your self.
